The Project: Mathsya in Adyar is a renowned multi-level restaurant offering contemporary dining experiences across several indoor floors. The rooftop level, however, is designed as an open-air extension of the brand—bringing together ambience, skyline views, and a premium outdoor vibe. This floor required durable, stylish, and weather-resistant furniture to complement the restaurant’s elevated atmosphere and handle continuous operational usage.

The Requirement: The rooftop section needed outdoor furniture that could withstand direct sunlight, humidity, spills, and constant guest turnover. The requirement included multiple dining configurations—2- seater, 4-seater, and 8-seater arrangements—to accommodate different group sizes and table layouts. Additionally, a customised sofa seating arrangement was required to create a relaxed lounge zone for groups, waiting guests, or extended dining sessions.

The Solution: Ellements furnished only the rooftop level with a complete, cohesive outdoor setup using Grenada chairs paired with Sligo tables in 2-, 4-, and 8-seater configurations, along with a customised Sutherland sofa crafted in left- and right-arm combinations for flexible layout planning. All pieces were engineered for long-term outdoor performance, featuring T5-hardness powder-coated aluminium frames, UV-stabilised HDPE wicker, 8mm toughened glass tabletops, and Sleepwell foam cushions wrapped in water-repellent outdoor fabric. This combination of refined design and resilient materials transformed the rooftop into a sophisticated, comfortable dining environment that withstands the demands of a busy restaurant while delivering an elevated open-air experience for guests.
