Chennai’s monsoon is not a gentle rain event that outdoor furniture can quietly tolerate. It is months of significant rainfall with high humidity before and after it. Scale is the thing nobody gets right until it is too late
There is a specific feeling that hits when furniture arrives and goes into a space and is immediately, obviously wrong in scale. Too large and the space feels consumed by it. Too small and the space feels like it gave up on itself.
It happens constantly. And it happens for a completely avoidable reason. Showrooms make furniture look smaller than it is. This is not a conspiracy.
